We Solve Hard Technology Problems

About Us

Nextarp B.V. was established in 2022 with the guiding principle that "A happy team leads to prosperous products and services, ultimately resulting in satisfied end customers." Embracing this philosophy, Nextarp operates on a partnership model, ensuring that our teams actively contribute to the decision-making process within the company. Through this collaborative approach, we foster a strong commitment from our teams to deliver their utmost best.

Our Name

Numerous professionals involved in various disciplines of internet technologies can easily recall ARPANET, the groundbreaking network that laid the foundation for the modern internet. ARPANET derived its name from the Advanced Research Project Agency Network, an American agency responsible for its creation. As we embark on the mission to tackle technology challenges within the realm of cyberspace, we proudly identify ourselves as Next Advance Research Projects, abbreviated as Nextarp.

Our Mission

Our mission is to establish ourselves as the premier design and engineering partner dedicated to resolving complex technological challenges for the enterprises we work with. Ultimately, we aim to craft exceptional digital products that directly benefit the end users we serve.

Our Values

Our work at Nextarp is guided by a set of core values that define our approach:

  • Innovation: We constantly strive to develop user-friendly products and services that address genuine challenges and improve convenience.
  • Individual Value: We prioritize creating a positive work environment where every team member feels content and fulfilled.
  • Engineering Excellence: We aim for exceptional engineering standards, positioning ourselves as the go-to digital problem solvers.
  • Collaborative Spirit: We foster a strong sense of teamwork, encouraging mutual support, while also embracing entrepreneurial spirit and fostering technical creativity.

Embracing Convenience as our Motivation

We firmly believe that engineering should revolve around enhancing convenience and improving the lives of our product users. While this principle applies to all engineering disciplines, it holds particular significance in the realm of digital product engineering. At Nextarp, we are dedicated to infusing convenience throughout the entire lifecycle of the products we create or manage. This encompasses design and architecture, engineering and programming, security and infrastructure operations, as well as the optimization process.

To achieve this vision, we have established rigorous standards that prioritize a convenient work environment. These standards ensure that our team members can focus on their tasks without unnecessary hindrances. By adhering to these guidelines, we guarantee an environment that enables our engineers to concentrate on delivering what is truly essential.

Our Approach for our Team Members

At Nextarp, our partners are categorized based on their functional capabilities, each having a distinct job description. These job descriptions are typically static, meaning they do not undergo frequent changes. They are specifically tailored to reflect the position's authority level, reporting structure, and precise responsibilities.

The job description for our partners encompasses the following aspects:

  • Roles: It outlines the specific role or roles that an individual fulfills within the organization, which can be singular or multiple.
  • Accountability: It clearly defines the person's areas of accountability, specifying the outcomes or results they are responsible for.
  • Responsibility Boundaries: It delineates the limits and boundaries of the person's responsibilities, indicating the scope within which they can operate.
  • Career Progression: It outlines the pathways for career advancement, guiding individuals on how they can progress to the next level in their professional journey.

True Agile Team Model

We will use the metaphor of a professional football team to explain the difference between an amateur team vs a professional one.
  • In a professional team, each member is assigned a specific position, but these positions can change dynamically based on the play or strategy employed. Conversely, players in an amateur team often find themselves simply chasing the ball without well-defined roles or positional awareness.
  • The ultimate objective in a professional team is to achieve team outcomes rather than focusing on individual roles or positions. The shared goal is to secure the league title as a cohesive unit, rather than merely aiming to score the most goals, as commonly seen in amateur teams.
  • In a professional team, the interactions and communication between team members hold greater importance than individual accountability. Collaboration, synergy, and understanding each other's movements on the field are essential factors that contribute to the team's success.
  • By adopting a professional team mentality, we prioritize working together towards a common objective, leveraging each member's strengths, and fostering effective communication and cooperation. This approach enables us to achieve remarkable results as a unified entity rather than as isolated individuals.
In a True Agile Team, the following applies:

  • Individuals prioritize helping one another without needing to check if a task falls within their job description. The team's primary focus is achieving the desired outcome rather than simply creating deliverables. The success of the outcome is measured by the level of convenience we provide to our customers.
  • While specialists and specializations do exist within our team, specialists also take on the role of training and mentoring their colleagues. This collaborative approach ensures that everyone on the team has the opportunity to grow and develop their skills.
  • Leaders at Nextarp step in to offer assistance whenever necessary, but otherwise, they empower team members to work autonomously and make decisions. They understand the importance of providing support while allowing individuals the freedom to carry out their responsibilities.
  • By fostering a culture of mutual support, constant improvement, and efficient leadership, we create an environment where the team can effectively collaborate, contribute their expertise, and work towards achieving remarkable outcomes.

At Nextarp, roles within the organization are structured based on seniority levels, forming a ladder-like progression. These roles are as follows:

  • Associate: An individual at the associate level demonstrates behaviors aligned with an associate role, typically with a few years of experience. They possess knowledge in a specific area of an application or system.
  • Intermediate: Those at the intermediate level showcase behaviors encompassing multiple associate roles while actively demonstrating behaviors associated with multiple intermediate roles. Individuals in this role have advanced knowledge across various areas of applications/systems, with increasing complexity. They also possess a working understanding of the entire application or system.
  • Senior: Individuals at the senior level demonstrate competence across two to three intermediate roles and at least one senior-level role. They possess extensive knowledge of the applications/systems for which their team is responsible, including a deep understanding of the associated business context and logic.
  • Principal: Those at the principal level showcase a majority of behaviors across two to three senior-level roles. They possess an in-depth knowledge of multiple applications/systems that span the enterprise, contributing their expertise in various domains.
  • Chief: Individuals at the chief level demonstrate a majority of behaviors across two to three senior-level roles and exhibit many behaviors of at least one chief-level role. They possess unparalleled knowledge across numerous applications/systems and domain areas, showcasing their expertise in diverse aspects.
By establishing clear and progressive roles based on seniority, Nextarp enables individuals to grow and advance within the organization while leveraging their expertise to contribute effectively to the team's overall success.

Hierarchy and Responsibilities of Partners

At Nextarp, we prioritize a collaborative work culture where hierarchy is not emphasized. Instead, we recognize and respect seniority levels based on experience and expertise. However, the entire team shares the collective responsibility for the outcome of the products we create. We believe in fostering a sense of ownership and accountability among all team members, regardless of their seniority. This approach promotes a collaborative environment where everyone's contributions and ideas are valued, leading to the successful development and delivery of high-quality products.

Office Location

Although our headquarters are in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Nextarp operates without any physical office locations. We have embraced a remote work model, allowing our partners to work from anywhere they feel most comfortable and productive. This flexible approach not only promotes individual happiness and work-life balance but also eliminates the need for incurring office-related expenses.

By not maintaining physical offices, we significantly reduce our operational costs. As a result, we do not pass on these office-related expenses to our customers. This allows us to offer our services at competitive prices, ensuring that our clients receive excellent value without being burdened by the cost of maintaining a traditional office setup.
